South Florida Water Management District Taps Ocean Gate
Date: 10-23-2009

Stuart, FL  -  The South Florida Water Management District is a regional, governmental agency that oversees the water resources in the southern half of the state - 16 counties from Orlando to the Keys. It is the oldest and largest of the state's five water management districts, and has just celebrated 60 years of service to Florida.  The agency's mission is to manage and protect water resources of the region by balancing and improving water quality, flood control, natural systems and water supply. A key initiative is cleanup and restoration of the Everglades.

In times of storms and emergencies, the south Florida Water Management District’s Emergency Operations Center is a hub of activity.  To accommodate the district’s growth and needs, Ocean Gate has been awarded a contract to construct and install a new 1,000 KW generator and building to hold the unit, a new 400 KW uninterrupted power supply unit, and two 12,000 gallons fuel tank.  Additional parking and sitework are also included in the scope of work.

Ocean Gate General Contractors, Inc. has a long history of successful projects with the district, and is happy to partner  with them once again.  Their projects require innovation and skill, two elements Ocean Gate brings to every project.  A deeply experienced Michael Cason, LEED AP will lead the management team for Ocean Gate.
